A collision between a motorcycle and an SUV on Highway 213 in Clackamas County last Saturday resulted in the death of a local man. Oregon State Police reported that the incident occurred near milepost 10 around 6:45 p.m., resulting in the closure of the highway for several hours while investigation and emergency services attended to the scene, as reported by the Oregon State Police.
Involved in the crash was a northbound Harley Davidson Low Rider S, ridden by 35-year-old Kenneth Jay Isaksen of Molalla, which, for reasons currently unknown, crossed into the opposing lane and collided with a Ford Explorer. The teenage driver of the Explorer, also from Molalla, was 15, taking control of the vehicle when the accident unfolded. Isaksen was declared deceased right at the scene of the incident.
The impact was severe enough to inflict injuries on the remaining occupants of the Ford. Both the teenage driver and two passengers—a woman identified as 37-year-old Julie Marie Urban and a 7-year-old female, both hailing from Molalla—were reported to have suffered minor injuries. Consequently, an area hospital treated their conditions.
Traffic on the route was significantly disrupted due to the crash, as investigators and first responders from various agencies, including the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department, Molalla Police Department, Clackamas Fire, Molalla Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation, worked together to clear the scene and assist the victims. According to local officials, the highway was impacted for approximately four hours during the investigation.
