Early Wednesday morning, a conspicuous federal law enforcement action unfolded across the Denver metro area, with agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) descending upon multiple locations. The DEA Rocky Mountain Division confirmed its support in serving search warrants as part of a collaborative operation, according to KDVR.

One of the targeted sites, the Cedar Run Apartments at 888 S. Oneida St. in Denver's Washington Virginia Vale neighborhood, was confirmed by KDVR's Jim Hooley, following a DEA post on a social media platform noting the actions taking place throughout the metro area. The operation also extended to Aurora, where Denver7 reports that the Edge of Lowry apartments experienced an ICE operation, a location already notorious due to the involvement of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.

The City of Aurora is in the process of shutting down that very apartment complex after being designated as a criminal nuisance due to ongoing criminal activity, as reported by CBS News Colorado. This emergency measure follows a municipal judge's order, stemming from persistent violent incidents and gang-related activity, including influential moves by Tren de Aragua.

As the law enforcement activities ramped up, several roads around the impacted locations were sealed off by the authorities. Among the areas affected were the 14th and Potomac, and Whispering Pines apartment complex at 15483 East 13th Avenue in Aurora, where along with the other sites, the DEA was seen serving a search warrant, captured in a video released by the DEA.
