A Forest Park police officer has been arrested and is facing a slew of charges after allegedly engaging in what has been described as a “sophisticated stalking scheme” against his ex-girlfriend. Officer James Cameron Kea was taken into custody following a tip from Delta Air Lines, suggesting his involvement in harassing behavior, as reported by WSBTV.
As part of the allegations obtained by FOX5 Atlanta, Kea is accused of several offenses, which include computer invasion of privacy. Although details about the case have not been fully disclosed, authorities confirmed that multiple charges have been filed. Walking into the Fulton County Jail without answering any questions, Kea's arrest was witnessed by a Channel 2 investigative reporter.
Sandy Springs police arrested Kea on five counts of computer invasion of privacy, three counts of computer trespass, two counts of ID fraud, plus charges of forgery in the first degree, computer forgery, possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor stalking. The Sandy Springs Police Department's Sergeant Leon Millholland called the situation a "black eye to the profession," according to WSBTV.
The investigation commenced after a woman approached the Sandy Springs police, disclosing that her ex-boyfriend, later identified as Kea, was harassing her. Notably possessing suspected cocaine on him, upon his arrest, the substances were found at his apartment and in his car, as told by Sergeant Millholland. If these allegations prove to be true, the centralized focus of the incident may spotlight how deeply personal grievances can evolve into criminal obsessions that abuse positions of trust and authority.
