
On Wednesday, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department apprehended a suspect in connection with a sexual assault case involving a former high school teacher and a student. The teacher, 53-year-old Darrin Garcia of San Jose, was arrested at his current workplace at Kathleen MacDonald High School. Garcia is accused of having an illegal sexual relationship with a student spanning from 2021 to 2023, as per the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department.
Garcia was previously employed at Santa Clara High School, where he served as both a teacher and a coach. He is said to have engaged in unlawful conduct during his tenure there. He has been a prominent sports coach and athletic director in Santa Clara County, with a career that has involved multiple schools. LGMSPD's ongoing investigation led them to conclusively identify and subsequently arrest Garcia on the alleged charges.
