Residents of Fort Collins, brace yourselves for some trail detours as the city kicks off construction on the Siphon Overpass project. Aimed to stitch the Power Trail with the Mail Creek Trail, this project marks a significant advancement toward safer, more integrated paths for cyclists and pedestrians. According to the City of Fort Collins, construction work mandates the temporary closure of a Power Trail's segment from Keenland Drive to where Southridge Greens Boulevard meets East Trilby Road.
Commuters frequenting this area are advised to expect diversions, though the city has promised clearly labeled detour routes, easing navigation woes around the work zones. "The Siphon Overpass is a key improvement for our trail network, providing a safer, more accessible connection for all users," Project Manager Jin Wang said, as per the City of Fort Collins.
The inconvenience, while palpable, is expected to be temporary, with city officials asking for community patience. Once complete, the overpass is envisioned to bridge more than concrete gaps, it's about forging routes that will serve Fort Collins' growth and its people's aspirations.
