The City of Fort Worth is bolstering its economic development team with a seasoned new addition, Lance Randall, who's been tapped for the role of deputy director for economic development. Randall is a battle-tested veteran in the space, boasting a broad skill set amassed over 29 years, where he's worked on economic and community development, workforce development, housing, tourism, government relations, and business management.
His portfolio showcases expertise in business recruitment, retention, expansion, site development, and infrastructure improvements. Randall isn't shy of leveraging tax incentives and new market tax credits to foster growth. In previous incarnations, he's worked with a Maryland state senator and had several stints with mayors in Macon, Georgia. His resume also includes directorial duties in the office of Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr., a U.S. Congress representative.
Beyond his political savvy, Randall has worked in various economic capacities, notably as a project manager at the Macon Economic Development Commission and a vice president at the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce. His influence extended to the Pacific Northwest, where he contributed to the Seattle Office of Economic Development and Southeast Effective Development. According to the City of Fort Worth's announcement, he also led as an executive director at the Black Business Association of Oregon.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, as Randall's mantle features numerous applauds, including the Crystal Eagle Award and an Existing Industry Appreciation Award from the Georgia Economic Developers Association. Further crowning his achievements, he received the Robert B. Cassell Leadership Award from the American Economic Development Council and recognition from Congress with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.
