Philadelphia police announced a fourth arrest related to the Dilworth Park shooting in December, where three teenagers were injured. The latest arrest occurred on Thursday, with a 17-year-old facing charges of aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy, according to CBS News Philadelphia. This teen joins three other teens already charged in connection to the incident.
On December 13, 2024, a shooting took place at Dilworth Park after an argument among youths escalated. One of the teens was critically injured and is believed to have lost an eye. Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore stated that the teen underwent multiple surgeries after the shooting, as reported by CBS News Philadelphia. The incident took place near the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market.
The first arrest, involving a 14-year-old, was made the night of the shooting. According to 6ABC, two additional 16-year-olds were arrested in the following days. All four teens face charges of aggravated assault, with the 14-year-old also charged with possession of an instrument of crime and recklessly endangering another person.
The victims of the shooting were two 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old, NBC Philadelphia reported. One 14-year-old was stable after being taken to the hospital by his mother, and the 15-year-old was also in stable condition. Authorities have not yet confirmed if they are searching for more suspects related to the shooting.
