The Franklin Police Department has again met the rigorous standards required for state reaccreditation by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police (TACP), confirming its dedication to maintaining high professionalism and service. According to an announcement published on the city's official website, officials from the Department, including Franklin Police Chief Deb Faulkner, Lieutenant Matt Smalley, and Sergeant Brandon Sandrell, proudly received the honor in Nashville yesterday.

The state reaccreditation, awarded every four years, marks a continued commitment by the city's law enforcement to stringent benchmarks established by the TACP. In 2021, having its sights set on excellence, the Franklin Police Department received its first accreditation. At the ceremony, they were certified by TACP President Chief Mark Gibson. As noted in their initial accreditation, TACP officials were once more impressed by the department's consistent concentration on officer wellness and safety. Conducting an in-depth on-site inspection earlier this year, TACP examined the Franklin PD across various facets of their operations, including policies, procedures, management, operational duties, and support services.

Chief Deb Faulkner expressed the Department's pride in being recognized by their peers, stating, "We are proud to once again be recognized by the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police," as reported by the Franklin Police Department's announcement. She also spoke to the level of excellence the reaccreditation signifies for the services provided to the community, attributing success to the team's unwavering diligence and dedication.

This recent commendation adds to the Franklin Police Department’s achievements, including international recognition. Holding an accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the Department is notable for its eighth reaccreditation since 2001 last March.
