A multi-car collision involving a Fulton County sheriff's deputy has played out on the Downtown Connector, causing considerable traffic disruption on Tuesday afternoon. The Georgia State Patrol detailed the incident, explaining that a Chevrolet Silverado's improper lane change initiated the sequence of events, sideswiping another vehicle before colliding with a box truck, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The Silverado collided with a commercial vehicle, causing it to spin across multiple lanes and hit the rear bumper of a box truck. The impact flipped the truck onto its side, blocking three lanes. Drivers in the traffic jam behind must have felt like the wait lasted forever. The box truck driver was hospitalized. Around 4 p.m., SKYFOX 5 showed the crash scene on I-75/85 southbound near Langford Parkway, including a damaged sheriff’s vehicle, which authorities confirmed was involved in the accident, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
