The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has apprehended three juveniles in connection with the death of 23-year-old Adrian Wofford in Social Circle. The arrests, which took place on January 29, implicate Charles Johnson, 17, and Christian Johnson, 15, both from Social Circle, GA, along with Trayvon Means, 16, from Gainesville, FL, in a series of serious crimes including Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of Firearm in the Commission of a Crime, and Felony Murder, as reported by the official Georgia Bureau of Investigation website.
Adrian Wofford's death, resulting from multiple gunshot wounds, occurred on September 18, 2024, on Carver Drive in Social Circle, prompting the GBI's involvement at the request of the local police; this involvement led to a months-long investigation that culminated in the recent arrests of the three accused minors, all of whom were already detained on unrelated charges in Florida when they were served with the Georgia warrants, the extradition for which is soon to commence.
The GBI has publicly sought assistance in this case, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the City of Social Circle Police at 770-464-2366 or their Athens office at 706-552-2309; furthermore, tips can be provided anonymously via a hotline, an online form, or a mobile application, offering various methods for community members to support law enforcement efforts in this ongoing investigation.
Once their probe reaches its conclusion, the GBI will transfer the case files over to the Alcovy Judicial Circuit for prosecution, where the convicted could face serious penalties for the offenses with which they are charged.
