According to a recent Chicago Police Department community alert, multiple incidents occurred during January and February, with perpetrators forcing entry into unoccupied apartments and buildings under renovation to pilfer household goods and construction tools.
Examining the details shared by the CPD, the break-ins were concentrated specifically around the 7300 block of S. Phillips Avenue and the 7400 block of S. Coles Avenue. Among them, one incident on the 7400 block of S. Coles Avenue, on January 27 at precisely 10:20 a.m., and fleeing by unknown means, the suspect remains at large.
While the offenders are currently unidentified, the police urge the community to heighten their vigilance. "Always be aware of your surroundings," the CPD advises, encouraging the immediate reporting of any suspicious behavior. Individuals are counseled against pursuing any fleeing suspects, but rather to concentrate on recalling any unique physical traits which could aid in identification.
