Gwinnett County officials are preparing to begin renovations and expansion of the Dacula Park Activity Building. Funded by the county's SPLOST program and the Community Development Block Grant, the project will upgrade the facility to a two-story, 34,000-square-foot space. Planned features include a full basketball court, two half courts, art and dance studios, a senior wing, and 76 additional parking spaces with EV charging infrastructure. The official groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Dacula Park Activity Building on Auburn Ave. The event, led by the Parks and Recreation Department's Chris Minor, will include county officials and community members. Guest speakers will include Gwinnett Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins III.
