
Hawai'i Island authorities are searching for a man suspected of involvement in an arson case in the Ocean View Estates community. The incident—a house fire last Friday—destroyed a residence and its contents, with an estimated value of $210,000, according to the Hawaii Police Department.
The blaze, which unfolded on the 92-8500 block of Paradise Parkway, was attended by police and fire crews at approximately 9:17 a.m., during which they found the home fully engulfed, though the elder woman who lived there fortunately escaped without harm, she reported seeing a man on her property prior to the inferno's ignition and now detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section and fire inspectors are fervently pursuing leads. The suspect was apparently wearing dark clothes and had his face concealed at the time of the incident.
