U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in San Diego took Freddy Mogollan, 41, into custody on Tuesday. Mogollan is a Mexican national and a convicted sex offender. According to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, he was previously arrested by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 9, 2022, and later convicted of several charges, including possession of child pornography and invasion of privacy.

After being charged with 28 misdemeanor counts and one felony count, Mogollan faced the legal system. The San Diego Superior Court found him guilty on May 5, 2023, for one felony count of possessing material depicting a minor in sexual conduct alongside four misdemeanor counts of invading privacy with a concealed camera. His sentence included one year in county jail and three years of probation, with an order to register as a sex offender.

Mogollan’s arrest by ICE follows his criminal convictions, ensuring that he will remain in custody pending removal proceedings. This enforcement action aligns with ICE's mission to target individuals threatening public safety.
