Seattle's branch of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken Jose Marin-Lozano into custody, a 47-year-old citizen of El Salvador, sought by his home country for homicide among other charges. According to a report from ICE, the arrest occurred on February 11th. El Salvador had issued an arrest warrant for Marin-Lozano for aggravated homicide on September 21, 2020, as well as a second warrant for propositions related to homicide, and conspiracy in the crime on June 9, 2021.
Drew H. Bostock, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle Field Office Director, said, "ICE will continue to act quickly when we learn of cases like this in our community." Found entering the United States at an unverified time and without inspection, Marin-Lozano's present status remains in ICE custody, awaiting the commencement of removal proceedings.
ICE's mandate to boost public safety has led them to encourage members of the community to report immigration crimes or any suspicious activity. The ICE Tip Line is available at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423), and tips can also be reported through their online form.
