Barrow County will soon see an expansion of Johns Manville, a fiberglass insulation manufacturer. The expansion will include a new production line and create over 30 jobs. Construction of the new line is set to begin in early 2026, with full operations expected by mid-2027.

According to the Barrow County release, Greg Clarke, President of Insulation Systems at Johns Manville, said, "Johns Manville is thrilled to invest in the Barrow County community, recognizing the immense potential for growth and collaboration. The facility, located at 713 Bankhead Highway in Winder, is preparing for the new production line. The expansion will increase the workforce, bringing the total number of employees in Winder to more than 350. The new jobs will include roles for operators, maintenance technicians, and warehouse employees.

Local leaders have expressed support for the expansion.
