Juveniles Survive Minor Injuries After Joyride Leads to Crash in Atlanta, Authorities Mulling Charges

Early this morning, a potentially tragic car chase unfolded along Memorial Drive in Atlanta, as four juveniles took an unauthorized joyride in their mother's car. FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. when the young individuals ran a red light and subsequently led police on a chase. The chase came to an abrupt halt when the car hit a median and crashed into a tree.

Despite the potential for serious harm, the juveniles luckily only suffered minor injuries and were quickly transported to the hospital, Atlanta police stated. The aftermath of the crash resulted in a closure of Memorial Drive at Martin Street for about an hour as first responders cleared the scene. Recovery efforts and the removal of the mangled vehicle were completed, and the roadway was reopened to morning traffic.
