The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety advises people making online sales to meet in well-lit public areas with security cameras, such as their Safe Exchange Zone. They recommend checking the other party’s profile for red flags and canceling the meeting if anything seems suspicious. Bringing someone along is also suggested for added safety. These guidelines were shared after a recent arrest to help ensure secure transactions, as stated by Mlive.
