Lake Havasu City drivers, the Public Works Department has announced a road closure at Smoketree Avenue to facilitate much-needed roadwork. According to the City's statement, expect the milling and paving activities to start at 7:00 a.m. and wrap up by 1:00 p.m., targeting the upgrade of the city's water infrastructure.
For those who frequent Smoketree Avenue, the closures will hit the intersections at Poplar Avenue, and Ash Avenue. You'll want to avoid these spots as the city carries out its essential maintenance. The city urges drivers to take the signed detour through Saguaro Drive and Columbine Drive, then turn onto Cliffrose Drive.
The work being done is part of a grander scheme to improve Lake Havasu City's foundation, a necessary step to ensure the continued flow and supply of one of our most precious resources - water.
The city has extended its thanks in advance for the patience of its residents during this period. "We thank residents and commuters for their patience and understanding as these essential upgrades are carried out to improve the city's infrastructure," the announcement reads.
