Drivers in Lewisville should be prepared for a detour as local and state officials work to address a notorious traffic safety issue. The southbound Main Street ramp to Interstate 35E has been closed for revamping after a series of accidents raised concerns. According to a social media post by the Lewisville Police Department, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) spearheads the project to construct a safer alternative ramp amidst ongoing highway construction.

Meanwhile, traffic that would have taken the Main Street ramp is redirected through the Main Street intersection to the next entrance ramp to continue southbound. The police department has announced that signal adjustments and lane markings are being implemented to accommodate the rerouted flow and temporarily enhance safety.
