A morning violence erupted in the Central District of Seattle, where a man was shot and later died from his injuries. The Seattle Police Department responded to a call at 4:25 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Spruce Street, where officers discovered an unconscious man with a gunshot wound.
Following the shooting, Seattle Fire Department medics provided immediate medical attention to the victim on scene. He was swiftly transported to Harborview Medical Center, where, despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead. The identity of the man has not been released pending family notification.
The circumstances that led to this tragedy remain unclear, and the SPD has yet to apprehend a suspect. According to the Seattle Police Department, the suspect had fled when officers arrived on the scene. The detectives from the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Unit are actively working on the case as they process the scene for evidence and seek out potential leads.
With the investigation ongoing, the police have set up a perimeter around the area of the shooting and continue to delve into the events that culminated in this man’s untimely passing.
