A man was shot in the Penrose neighborhood, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department on their website. The shooting incident occurred yesterday in the 4400 block of Farlin Avenue, with the call coming in around 8:40 p.m.
The victim, a 41-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and sought medical assistance while the authorities were in the process of being notified, he was already on his way to the hospital to receive treatment. After he arrived at the healthcare facility, officers made contact with the man, who recounted sitting on a porch when an unknown assailant emerged from a nearby vacant lot and opened fire.
Currently, the injured man’s condition has stabilized, and he remains in the hospital as detectives from District 6 continue their investigation into the violent event according to their website. The police have not yet released any information on potential suspects nor have any arrests been made at this stage.
