A 34-year-old man was subjected to a robbery while seated in his vehicle in the Hyde Park neighborhood, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident, which took place around 9:50 p.m. yesterday in the 3700 block of N. 14th Street, involved an armed suspect who approached the victim's car.
The man recounted that an unidentified black sedan encroached upon him while he waited for a friend, as reported by SLMPD's news release. The driver of the sedan, brandishing a handgun, got out of his vehicle and demanded the man to empty his pockets. After striking the victim in the head with the weapon, the assailant forcibly removed the man from his car, pilfering his wallet and car keys before fleeing the scene in the black sedan.
The victim sustained minor injuries during this violent encounter and received treatment from EMS at the location. Police officers have launched an investigation, but the offender remains at large.
