The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is actively searching for Freddy Rojas, a 37-year-old incarcerated man, following his unauthorized departure from a Male Community Reentry Program (MCRP) in San Diego County yesterday. Rojas, who is described as 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing 211 pounds with brown eyes and a bald head, exited the facility around 7:26 p.m., wearing dark grey shorts and a black shirt with white lettering, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
A head count confirmed Rojas's absence, prompting notification to CDCR’s Office of Correctional Safety and local law enforcement agencies, assisting with the ongoing search for Rojas, was most recently received from San Diego County on May 31, 2023, and was serving a seven-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance and sale as a second striker, along with an enhancement for being armed with a firearm.
Anyone with information on Rojas's whereabouts is urged to contact authorities or call 9-1-1. The MCRP is designed to provide offenders nearing the end of their sentences access to supportive services aimed at successful reintegration, including substance use disorder treatment, mental health care, and family reunification programs, among others.
