The City of Marietta is inviting residents and business owners to learn about how the city operates through its upcoming Citizens' Government Academy. The program will consist of seven sessions, starting on March 26, according to the City of Marietta's announcement.
The academy aims to give participants an inside look at city operations, with city staff acting as educators and city facilities serving as classrooms. The program is open to Marietta residents and business owners aged 18 and over, with a limit of 25 participants. The academy will conclude with a reception and graduation ceremony during the City Council meeting on May 14.
Registration for the program opened on Friday at 8:00 AM and will remain open until 5:00 PM on Friday next week. Interested individuals can sign up through the event’s registration page.
Participants will tour city facilities and meet with department leaders, engaging in discussions on various city services. They will also have the chance to ask questions to city staff. A schedule of the session locations will be provided to participants ahead of time.
