
An early Monday morning police chase initiated by the Southaven Police Department resulted in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Tchulahoma Road and East Holmes Road in Memphis, as reported by WMC Action News 5. The pursuit began following a kidnapping report in the area of Paddock Cove, where a woman disclosed to the authorities that a man was holding her against her will with a knife; the pair subsequently fled the scene in a grey Dodge truck, according to Local Memphis.
The chase ensued after the truck driver ignored commands to stop, eventually leading to the collision involving a Southaven police cruiser and a civilian vehicle, during this high-stress situation, the civilian involved was treated at the scene while a Southaven officer was conveyed to Baptist DeSoto Hospital with minor injuries, as obtained from statements by the FOX13 Memphis.
In the aftermath of the crash, the suspect eluded police officials and the pursuit was discontinued, meanwhile, reports indicate that the kidnapping victim managed to return home bearing visible injuries from the incident which, as Local Memphis notes, was isolated and involved parties who were acquainted with one another.
