
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently on the lookout for a suspect involved in a recent theft in the Southeast region of the city. The incident, which took place in the early hours of February 16, at around 12:11 a.m., prompted a response from authorities to the 2100 block of 14th Street, Southeast. The unknown individual engaged in theft and hastily fled the area using a stolen vehicle. According to the MPD, the vehicle in question has since been recovered.
MPD has released photos of the suspect and is actively seeking the community's help to quickly identify the individual involved. As reporting by MPD's official news release, "Anyone who can identify this suspect or who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411."
The department has also offered a financial incentive to encourage public collaboration, announcing a reward up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons held accountable for this crime committed in the District of Columbia.
