The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the 2026 Regional Bridge Program recipients. This program, which replaces the old local bridge replacement program, relies on federal funds from both the Bridge Formula Program and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to improve the state's bridge safety and infrastructure, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Missouri Department of Transportation received applications for 201 bridge projects totaling over $162.5 million. Out of these, 63 projects were selected to receive $49.9 million in federal funds. $500,000 was allocated to a major bridge, covering both small and large projects.
The East-West Gateway Council manages project selection in St. Louis, while Missouri Department of Transportation provides project lists for other regions. The Regional Bridge Program focuses on improving Missouri's bridges for safety and efficiency. Awarded recipients will be contacted by Missouri Department of Transportation with further details. These federally funded upgrades will improve transportation and benefit local communities.
