The incident unfolded on the evening of February 6, when a local woman was robbed at gunpoint shortly after withdrawing money from a bank in the 500 block of O’Bannon Street, as New Orleans Police Department News reports.
Around 6:24 p.m., having just taken out cash, the victim was preparing to leave when two male suspects approached her from behind as she placed the money into her pocket. Suspect #1 is said to have brandished a handgun and demanded the funds. Acting out of fear for her safety, the victim complied and handed over the money to the armed individual. It was then, on O’Bannon Street toward Sanctuary Drive, the suspects made their escape, their whereabouts subsequently unknown, as reported by the New Orleans Police Department.
Descriptions provided by the victim and released by New Orleans Police Department paint a picture of two slender black males in similar attire. The first suspect is reportedly dark-skinned, approximately 5'6" and weighing around 140 pounds, last seen wearing a black hoodie, Dickies-style pants, and a ski mask. The second suspect is described as brown-skinned, around 5'8" and 140 pounds, wearing a black hoodie paired with red gym shorts and also a ski mask. Detailed in the New Orleans Police Department News statement, the outfits were consistent with an intention to conceal identities.
