Yesterday morning, the Oklahoma City Fire Department was called to a blaze that had engulfed part of the Summerwood Apartments, located at Southwest 62nd and Western. As per News 4, residents in the vicinity were roused from their slumber by the urgent wail of sirens and the glaring intrusion of emergency lights at around 2:00 a.m.
Simultaneously, another report came through from KOCO that, having arrived in response to the fire near SW 59th & Western Ave, crews were immediately called upon to perform a daring rescue. A person, caught in the trap of flames within their apartment was extricated by these unsung heroes, their condition, however, has remained a matter under wraps.
The bravery of firefighters was highlighted once again in a recent News 9 report, who rescued a woman from a fire. No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
