Gustavo Gordillo, a 41-year-old Guatemalan national, has been charged with transporting, distributing, and possessing child pornography. The charges follow an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Oklahoma City Police Department.
In July 2020, a tip led Oklahoma City police to Gordillo, accused of uploading child sexual abuse material to a Google Photos account. He allegedly shared and received illegal content involving a child from another state. The investigation, supported by tips from Google and Facebook, traced the case to his Oklahoma City residence. Gordillo was charged last Monday, and arrested last Wednesday with help from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the Homeland Security Investigations.
Gordillo, who was in the U.S. on an expired temporary visa, was arrested on charges related to international crime. If convicted, he faces up to 60 years in federal prison. The case is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tiffany Edgmon. The Department of Homeland Security reported the story on Thursday, as reported by the Homeland Security Investigations.
