A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a semi-truck in far western Batavia this past Tuesday. The incident, which occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kirk Road and East Wilson Street, left the pedestrian hospitalized but in stable condition despite serious injuries, as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
Batavia police arrived at the scene where they found the pedestrian conscious and promptly transported to a local hospital, according to WSPY News. The driver of the semi-truck was said to be cooperating with the ongoing investigation as parts of the intersection were closed for several hours which likely caused significant disruptions during the evening commute.
"No citations have been issued at this time, pending further investigation," as stated by WSPY News.
