A man was fatally stabbed near a Phoenix bus stop last Saturday evening. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, as reported by 12News.
The incident occurred near the intersection of 15th Avenue and Jefferson Street around 7 p.m.; the victim, identified by authorities as 43-year-old Walter MacDonald, was promptly transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, and although a man was detained at the scene after acknowledging his involvement in the stabbing, he was released pending further investigation—and no additional details regarding motive or circumstances have been released to the public yet. "Officers contacted a man at the scene who acknowledged his involvement with the stabbing. Detectives responded to the scene and after speaking with witness’ and being provided statements from the man, he was released pending further investigation," said Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Bower in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix.
