The Phoenix Police Department has updated the status of a death case from December, officially ruling it as a homicide following new findings from the medical examiner. Margaret Williams, 21, was found dead at a baseball field in Ahwatukee on Dec. 7, 2024, near 40th Street and Ray Road. Initially, the police did not observe any signs of trauma on Williams, leading to a preliminary designation of the case as a death investigation, as FOX 10 Phoenix reported.
Recent developments in the case came when the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner conducted, an autopsy and ruled that Williams' death was indeed a homicide. "Findings were later released from the Medical Examiner’s Office ruling the death to be a homicide," Sgt. Brian Bower explained, as obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. However, the specifics of what led to Williams' death are still unknown, and no suspects have been identified.
Authorities are requesting assistance from anyone with information about the events leading to Williams' death.
