Rockdale County residents will have more opportunities to interact with their local government officials. Starting tomorrow, the Board of Commissioners (BOC) will introduce regular town halls every third Tuesday at 6 p.m. These informal sessions will allow residents to speak directly with elected officials, as announced on the Rockdale County government website.

In addition, the county will combine Work and Voting Sessions into one meeting, which will be held at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. This change is intended to allow citizens to participate in discussions before decisions are made. Chair Van Ness stated that this adjustment aims to improve service to our community by promoting open dialogue and collaboration.

The BOC is encouraging residents to attend these new meetings as part of their effort to increase community engagement. These sessions offer residents the chance to ask questions and observe how decisions are made.

"These changes are designed to make our meetings more accessible and informative for all residents," Chair Van Ness said in the announcement. The BOC is urging residents, including small business owners and parents, to attend and participate in these meetings.

For more information, residents can visit the BOC Agenda page on the Rockdale County website or contact the county directly by phone.
