According to a news release from the San Diego Police Department, three male suspects, brandishing handguns, made their getaway in a black sedan after robbing the convenience store located at 4080 Convoy Street. Sergeant David Nilsen, the watch commander, noted that the incident occurred at approximately 3:55 AM.

Shortly following the Kearny Mesa incident, a 7-Eleven in Encinitas also fell victim to a robbery carried out by suspects matching a similar description. Fleeing north in a black four-door sedan, the assailants were described as short and thin with medium complexions. The back-to-back nature of the crimes, with both stores targeted within a half-hour span, has led to an ongoing investigation by the SDPD Robbery detectives, per the department's statement.

No injuries have been reported from the robberies, and no suspects have been identified or taken into custody.
