A collision in Pacifica led to the arrest of a suspected drunk driver. According to the Pacifica Police Department's social media post, last Saturday, around 12:30 AM, their officers responded to reports of a vehicle with a street sign wedged underneath it, stopped along Alisal Ct. and Timberhill Dr.

Upon arrival, police discovered the vehicle parked and still occupied by the driver, identified as 26-year-old Emily Nishimura of San Francisco. Further investigation revealed she had been driving under the influence when her vehicle crossed a raised center median near Hickey Blvd. and SR-35, consequently uprooting a pole-mounted street sign. The sign remained lodged under her vehicle as she continued to drive for about a mile, eventually colliding with another parked vehicle, causing damage.

The Pacifica Police Department concluded that Nishimura was under the influence of alcohol during the incident, leading to her arrest on several charges, including "23152(a) CVC – DUI Alcohol, 23152(b) – Driving with BAC .08% or higher, and 20002(a) CVC – Hit and Run," as documented by the Pacifica Police Department. The Department has urged the public to contribute to road safety by reporting suspected impaired drivers by calling 9-1-1.
