
The San José Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that marked the city's second homicide of the year. The incident occurred yesterday in the 800 block of Farm Drive and was first reported at about 2:17 PM.
According to a press release from the San José Police Department, patrol officers rushed to the location after receiving reports of the shooting. Upon their arrival, they found an adult male victim who had suffered at least one gunshot wound. In an attempt to quickly administer life-saving measures, officers immediately began to assist the victim on the scene. The man was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he eventually died from his injuries.
The San José Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to the scene to spearhead the investigation. Details regarding the motive or the circumstances that led up to the shooting have yet to be disclosed, as the matter remains under active investigation. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office.
