
Last night, an incident transpired involving SLPD officers who were responding to an earlier vehicular assault. Their investigation brought them to the intersection of 164th Avenue and East 14th Street, where the suspect and the associated vehicle were located, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
Shortly thereafter, the situation escalated, resulting in gunfire involving three SLPD officers. In the brief statement released by the police, it was confirmed that the suspect was apprehended. There were no injuries on both sides, the officers and the suspect emerged unscathed. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation due to jurisdictional authority over the region where the shooting took place.
