In a demonstration of diligent police work, the Santa Clara Police Department has successfully put two prolific burglars behind bars after tying them to a rash of property crimes that plagued Santa Clara residents for months. These burglars, identified as locals from Santa Clara and San Jose, focused their nefarious activities on apartment complex storage units. They employed elusive tactics to carry out their thefts with minimal signs of forced entry, and they managed to escape notice for a considerable period starting from October 2024, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.
The exhaustive investigation led by Santa Clara's patrol officers, the Special Enforcement Team (SET), and Property Crimes Detectives spanned several months with the suspects involved in stealing personal possessions that included laptops, iPads, gaming systems, and even high-end audio equipment, not to mention electric bikes, power tools, various vehicles, and even kayaks which contributed to a series of crime reports from victims indicating losses in the tens of thousands.
The breaking point in the case arrived when investigations traced stolen goods to specific locations. Yesterday, law enforcement officials took the culprits into custody following the execution of search warrants at a couple of apartments and a handful of storage units spread between San Jose and Santa Clara.
