Scottsdale is stepping up its game in supporting college-bound students with disabilities through the Mayor’s Ability Awards scholarships. Announced recently, this financial boon is targeting those who have gone above and beyond to triumph over the challenges that come with living with a disability. As reported by the city's official news site, the scholarship aims to embolden such students in their quest for higher education, a move that is both noble and necessary.

The Mayor of Scottsdale, Lisa Borowsky captured the essence of this initiative when she said, "The Mayor’s Ability Awards are about empowering students with disabilities to realize their full potential," as stated by the City of Scottsdale. Indeed, her words echo the sentiment of a community rallying behind its young citizens, seeking to dismantle barriers, and building bridges to academic success.

Scottsdale students pursuing college, university, vocational, or trade school can apply until March 21. According to the City of Scottsdale, a ceremony on April 18 at Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West will honor the scholars.
