
A man in his 50s was found fatally shot in an apartment in the Kingsway East neighborhood, St. Louis Police confirmed. The shooting occurred yesterday in the 4800 block of Leduc, where officers were called shortly before 2:30 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD), a preliminary investigation suggested that the deceased man was shot by his 69-year-old neighbor after purportedly kicking in the neighbor's door. The neighbor claimed self-defense and was detained to quickly be questioned by police at the scene, before being released pending further investigation.
Homicide detectives are now leading the ongoing inquiry into the incident. Police are urging anyone with information to step forward and assist in shedding more light on the case. There has been no mention of charges at this time, and the identity of the deceased has not been released pending the notification of next of kin.
