Upon arrival at approximately 4:49 p.m., the personnel discovered an adult female trapped under the RV. Operating with a mix of urgency and care, the fire crew extricated the injured woman and initiated life-saving measures. She was quickly transported to Stanford Medical Center, where, despite the responders' efforts, she was pronounced dead. The victim, currently unnamed, assisted the RV's driver in leveling the vehicle with blocks when the incident occurred, as the initial investigation indicated.
The driver, who had remained on the scene, cooperated with the authorities. According to the Sunnyvale DPS' social media post, neither speed nor intoxication seem to contribute to this unfortunate event. Currently, the Sunnyvale DPS Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is continuing to delve into the specifics of the collision to glean what other elements may have come into play. Investigator D. Larks from MAIT has encouraged any eyewitnesses of the accident to make contact by calling (408) 730-7110.
