A man was fatally shot early Saturday at a South Fulton hotel, leading to the arrest of a suspect, as confirmed by local authorities. South Fulton police were called to 4265 Shirley Drive shortly before 7:30 a.m. in response to reports of gunfire. The address is associated with the Economy Hotel Atlanta, as verified by a FOX 5 Atlanta report.
According to the police, they discovered a man who had been shot in the hotel's parking lot. Critically injured, the man was hurried to the hospital where, unfortunately, he later died from his wounds. At this time, the identity of the victim remains undisclosed. Anwar Harris was arrested in connection to the incident, after being questioned by the South Fulton Police. As stated in a statement from Atlanta News First, "At this time, the incident appears to be isolated and does not appear to be gang-related."
