Almost four months after a fatal shooting rocked the community near 768 Pryor Street SW, authorities have made an arrest in connection with the incident. Demarco McDonald, a 33-year-old, was apprehended by the United States Marshals Service in Los Angeles, California yesterday, as was reported by the Atlanta Police Department. McDonald now faces a series of charges that include Murder and Aggravated Assault.
Back on November 9, 2024, the quiet of the early morning was shattered by gunfire, subsequently officers from Atlanta Police Zone 3 were dispatched to a report of a person shot near the aforementioned address, it was in this turmoil that the victim, suffering from a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital by private vehicle but unfortunately did not survive. Following the incident, homicide investigators worked to untangle the sequence of events that led to this unnecessary loss of life.
According to details released by the authorities, their diligent work finally culminated in McDonald's arrest on the other side of the country; he has been charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm By a Convicted Felon. With these developments, he is currently being held in a local detention center ahead of extradition back to Atlanta.
