
Last evening, a teenage boy was reportedly shot in Northwest Atlanta. According to a statement posted on the Atlanta Police Department's website, officers responded to a call at 1820 Hollywood Rd. NW around 8:08 p.m. where they found a 16-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Alert and holding on, the young male was breathing and conscious when the officers arrived and soon after, an ambulance carried him to the hospital.
With the Aggravated Assault Unit stepping in, investigators are now piecing together the moments that led up to this act of violence. As they canvassed the area, collecting testimonies and searching for evidence, there has been no immediate word on suspects or motives behind the shooting. The identity of the victim, trying to sustain a semblance of normalcy in the wake of this event, has not been released to the public.
Atlanta Police urge anyone with information about the incident to come forward, promising anonymity to those who wish to help silently. The investigation into the circumstances that left a boy injured, who had his whole life ahead of him, is ongoing.
