Early yesterday morning, a robbery turned violent in Gravois Park, resulting in a 19-year-old man being shot. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers from District 3 were called to the intersection of Pennsylvania and Potomac around 7 a.m. yesterday, following reports of a shooting incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the young man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. After being questioned by the officers, the victim recounted an altercation where two men, allegedly attempting to sell him marijuana, assaulted him when he refused. According to SLMPD's statement, during the scuffle, one of the perpetrators brandished a firearm and shot the man as they tried to seize his phone.

The suspects fled immediately after the incident, leaving the injured 19-year-old at the bus stop where he had been waiting. He received prompt medical attention, as Emergency Medical Services transported him to a local hospital where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
