In a coordinated law enforcement effort, the U.S. Marshals have captured Darzell Thaddeus Wester, a 27-year-old man with a lengthy list of violent felony charges to his name. According to a recent press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, Wester's rap sheet includes armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and other serious offenses in Cobb County, Georgia.
Wester's run from the law made significant progress after the Cobb County Sheriff's Office sought the U.S. Marshals Service, Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force's expertise in November 2024. With ties stretching to various counties in Tennessee, Wester was not a simple man to locate – given his connection to additional warrants for crimes, including driving under the influence of alcohol, larceny, and fraud. The Marshals applied their resources diligently, and upon receiving a tip that Wester was hiding out in Gallatin, Tennessee, the Middle Tennessee Task Force took action.
The arrest was made at a Turner Way residence in Gallatin, marking the end of Wester's evasion. It was stated by the U.S. Marshals that "Wester was arrested without incident and taken to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office jail where he was booked as a fugitive from justice and will await extradition to Georgia." This successful apprehension underscores the effectiveness of task force collaborations, which, in this case, led to the capture of a dangerous individual without harm to law enforcement or the public.
