
A van crashed into a Burger King in northeast Georgia yesterday, causing significant damage. The Lavonia Police Department shared images of the accident on Facebook, showing the utility van that drove into the fast-food restaurant.
Officials stated the van appeared to have gone through the dining area of the Burger King, located just off I-85 in Lavonia. According to Local 4, police said the driver "had apparently suffered a medical emergency" before the crash. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported.
The driver, identified by the van's branding as being linked to Lavonia-based Reed Plumbing & Electric, was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
The restaurant remains closed due to the damage, and the clean-up and structural assessments are ongoing. FOX 5 Atlanta reported that the driver's condition has not been disclosed.
