A 16-year-old has been charged with murder following a shooting that resulted in the death of 39-year-old Leo Addison in Prince George's County, Maryland. Reports from WUSA9 revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday around 10:30 p.m. at an intersection near Marlboro Pike and Forestville Road.
The teenager was witnessed firing a handgun by a Prince George's County Police sergeant, who heard the gunshots while on duty near the area. The officer managed to apprehend the teen after a brief attempt to flee from the scene. Despite being transported to the hospital, Addison later succumbed to his injuries. According to the same report, the preliminary investigation suggests that an argument led up to the shooting, and it appears that the suspect and the victim had no prior acquaintance.
The WJLA confirms that the young suspect now faces first-degree murder charges and is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. As the case continues to unfold, authorities are seeking any additional information that could aid the investigation.
